Bear like deer has a physiology to feel pain, they fear death and most of the killings are done by bows and arrow. .Bears are gentle giant do not let the DNR mislead you. I am a NJ gal and been into the woods and seen bears. They only want to be left alone. Bear has never harm anyone, not like humans do. Humans kills more people then any Bear has ever. Again, bears just want to be left alone. It’s the responsibility of the wildlife Agency to teach bear awareness and how to co-exist rather then letting the bear rummage thru garbage and not giving fines to people who leave garbage out. This gives more excuses for NJ Fish and Games to kill the Bear when it’s their responsibility to give citation if proper wildlife proof garbage cannister is not put out but they don’t bother. They want nuisiance and to have photos of bear on peoples property.
