Please sign and share this Humane Society petition (link above) to Secretary Stepp against the wolf “QUOTA” and the ignorance and cruelty of the now annual wolf slaughter using mostly traps in combination with crossbows, guns and any torture they want to enjoy. This is an obscenity that will go down in history as a legacy of Wisconsin and our citizen apathy and neglect.
It is a dark and barbaric time in the state of Wisconsin as wildlife suffer and are serially killed in massive and expanding yearly “seasons”. Wolves are as essential to healthy ecosystems as healthy water and air. We are destroying those too.
So please make the effort to add a comment and email this to your contact list, especially Wisconsin residents and send it out to your social networking sites.
Wolves cannot howl for themselves – or if they do, they are killed for it.

Exposing the Big Game 
Wolf management (killing) is mostly unnecessary “management” promulgated by myth, folklore, lies, misunderstanding, old erroneous beliefs of hunters that their populations must be driven down, and other predators as well, so that man will have more game herd killing opportunities. Wolves will manage their own populations for elbow room with other wolf packs and available prey. If left alone they would stabilize in a given area, say state such as MT-WY-ID-WI or other. They will gradually spread to other states, as they are now to OR and WA, eventually CA and stabilize there. Wolf stabilization, without hunting or trapping, has been documented and observed in Yellowstone, the Ukraine, and many other places.
Conservationists? Sport Killing as Conservation
Trappers are always looking for rationalizations, as do hunters, and both rationalize themselves as “conservationists” which is absurd when what they really mean is farming game species for man to kill for sport by marginalizing predators. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. reasons for game decline is almost always man, man, man, man: Loss of habitat often to farming and grazing, as it is with sage grouse, forage loss due to man or weather, over-hunting. Hunting is additive killing falling outside the wilderness ecology. Man is no longer few and dependent on subsistence hunting; now it is just sports killing. Another thing that is happening now is climate change and related disease. In any case, it is not predators who have established millennium of balance with prey and they should never be scapegoated as the bird, ungulate and fishermen do in a knee jerk way often spurring wildlife agencies to join in the “management” rationale. Climate change is also resulting in animal movement and even plant movement to other climes. It is man that needs the management in terms of controlling hunting levels, habitat loss and recovery, corridors of travel for wildlife kept or regained (available), learning to live with wildlife instead of against it as we do our ranching and farming, extraction industries, development. The rationalizations of trappers and hunters of managing the predators is an old, invalid mantra belonging in the categories of myth, folklore, even lies, and with us from the dawn of civilization and sports hunting.
We can see just how big a mistake delisting was, and keeps getting worse. IQs continue to drop across the country when it comes to wolves.
I get confused sometimes – why would the Humane Society ask for a limit quota on the killing – when WE ALL WANT NO KILLING of wolves – full stop !
And don’t you just hate the word HARVESTING when referring to the killing of animals ? !!
That’s the problem with compromising with killers. And how the hell is it “harvesting?” There aren’t any wolf hatcheries out there hatching more “game” for “sportsmen.”
