I agree. A large part of the problem is semantics. Hunters as “conservationists,” killing = “harvesting,” the killed animal = a “take,” killing an animal = “dispatching.” These more neutral terms obscure the bloody viciousness of hunting and trapping. We need to push the “conservationists” and their apologists (the state and fed wildlife “management” agencies) to use the correct terms. Since they’re proud of what they do, I think we should all challenge them to come clean by owning their brutality.
