There is a new photograph making the rounds on the internet showing a Wisconsin wolf killer posing with a dead wolf and a live one in a trap in the background. I was forwarded this today along with the caption apparently written by the wolf killer on one of the wildlife snuff sites.

Do you know what I’m sick of hearing? Is that ‘this is not hunting’ and the killer ‘is not a hunter’. Wake the fuck up and smell the fucking coffee. This person is hunting, this is what hunting looks like and yes he is a hunter – because this is what they do, how they act and how they think.

Wyoming (yes, Wyoming!) has a group called “Wyoming Untrapped” that seeks to change the way wildlife are “managed” and treated. This is their statement: “We want to promote an overall ethic of compassionate conservation for our wildlife and other natural resources. Trapping does not fit this ethic and we want to change that.” I belong to that group, although I live in Washington, and I’m hoping they bring this awful tradition of trapping both state and national attention.
