I know, it couldn’t possibly be the fact that the birds are kept in cramped, unnatural, and prime disease-breeding conditions – and not one extra penny allowed for proper conditions for them if it will interfere with the Almighty Profits. Blame the wolves! Deplorable is right.
The wild birds are already being blamed; soon they’ll be “culling” them for the safety of humans–the only species that matters (they think).
So the poultry “industry” packs birds in deplorable conditions, does nothing to maintain sanitation or heath, in other words, setting the birds up for the virus, and then kills them when they get sick. Then in a completely callous and self-serving statement, while the birds are suffering and drying, a spokesperson assured us that “the price of poultry and eggs would not go up.” Lovely.
Expect a wild birds blaming campaign. 😦
