Jim, I have told of this long winded story a few times in my life. But it’s a classic. I adore red squirrels. Well fond or all animals and feisty red squirrels are quite the story makers lol. On one of my many long camping adventures i guess you can call them. This one was in little cotton wood canyons in Utah. Hard core, 4 months after about a week, there was a red squirrel kept screaming at me. She would get on the picnic table every morning and make a bunch of noise and mess things up and take food and they live in the ground out there and have a really loud screech. Well, ugh. She was horrible. Finally i just started feeding her, thinking she was after food. Nah, then she became worse, morning noon and night bitching and yelling, on the table and then she get on the tree and throwing stuff down at me. WOW, psycho squirrel. It was unbelievable!. Now a 6 ounce squirrel, tossing stuff down from a tree and making a big noisy racket o.0… wow wow. this went on for about 3 weeks. SO FINALLY i moved the table and all my gear. and things got quieter. then i didn’t see her. awww i thought. Now i missed my little noise maker. Got kind of attached to her. so for a couple weeks i set out blue berry muffins and stuff looking for her and POP! out came her head one day… guess where?
Right out from under my reclining lawn chair. That little demon made a HOME UNDER MY CHAIR! well.. no wonder i didnt see her 0.0… she was UNDER ME! .. smart ass squirrel pfffft!.. but that wasnt all… 3 babies popped up with her 😀 😀 😀 .. yup .. so for the next couple months as i was finishing my work up there, i had the most amazing time with that family… always respected those squirrels ever since… they got a lot of spunk.. noise makers for sure ..with good aim lol… 🙂 smile
