I’m against wolf hunting and have sponsored dozens of wolves in several sanctuaries. I understand how nature works, but I also feel sympathy/empathy for the prey animals. As one philosopher noted, “There is no boon in nature.”
I don’t feel that way at all. I see it as a cycle, and for the prey animal it is a good death. The next time, it could be the predator. It’s usually quick, not perverse, as humans make killing. He or she is providing for other animals to live, not a trophy on a wall, a constructive purpose. He or she contributing to the health of his own herd when his natural time comes, as it does for all of us. Only (Western) humans don’t get it, and screw everything up.
