Koalas are being forced out of their homes and are dying, because of noise caused by a nearby festival. Demand this event be moved or banned so these animals can live in peace.

It’s hard to believe that people have no concept of other beings and how our activities can affect them – and when called out, we deny it. And we also like to think we all have empathy! Today, being an insensible lout is considered ‘normal’, and people who are sensitive to these things are called ‘too sensitive’ (read: ‘abnormal’). We’re all being dumbed down I feel. Dumbing down should not be encouraged nor accepted.
I have no doubt that our out of control behavior affects wildlife. Even for me, I find I have to do things at off time and the off season, because large, chaotic crowds, rudeness, lack of cleanliness, parking nightmares, loudness, undisciplined children, greed, machinery, etc. just ruins the entire experience for me at festivals, parks, national parks and other places. The joys of overpopulation I guess. But this is what freedom means today – do anything you want to express yourself, with no thought to how it affects others.
Oh, for Pete’s sake! People can’t take their stupid music someplace else if it’s killing animals? I suspect no matter how much proof they get, some will deny it, and the noise will continue.
The koalas are having a hard time, with wild fires in their home areas and development leaving them to survive in the suburbs, facing traffic and dogs, etc. The poor little fellows aren’t equipped to deal with such an environment.
