MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say two white-tailed deer from a hunting ranch in Waupaca County have tested positive for chronic wasting disease.
Wisconsin State Veterinarian Dr. Paul McGraw says the bucks were among 40 deer reported to be on the 84-acre ranch. One buck was killed by a hunter and the other was euthanized due to an injury.
Both were sampled in accordance with state rules that require testing of farm-raised deer and elk when they die or are killed.
Why don’t people understand that meat isn’t healthy? Instate of killing animals humans should start growing food for themselves and not to feed herds…
Something has to be done about this, or we are going to create a disaster. We refuse to allow predators to do their natural job and vilify them. Our activities have thrown nature out of whack, and we’ll never own up to it.
I’d like to say that when the sh*t hits the fan, we’ll have no one to blame but ourselves – but too many innocent creatures are going to suffer because of our failings.
Sad but true.
