  1. I keep thinking that at some point vigilantism is an answer. There is an Internet story about a village in Vietnam whose residents got tired of dognappers taking their pets for the meat trade. Authorities would not act. One night two of the dognappers were discovered. A group of men chased them down and killed them. Now they hope the law will pay attention.

    There is a case in China of a man in the dog trade who got beat up by opponents.

    Yes, it’s illegal and violent. So is animal abuse.
