I followed all the rules, kept the cats inside, did regular checkups, with the major one every year having full blood work, Doppler blood pressure, and dental cleaning. But as the years go by, creatinine goes up and kidney function goes down. By age 17 my cats had euthanasia. This is happening to the big cats in sanctuaries and to wolves in sanctuaries, ad well.
Unfortunately, even with the best care, the body wears out.
Sad but true.
