Hunting accident sends man to the hospital

A man suffered what appear to be non-life threatening injuries Monday after he was shot while hunting.

The incident took place just before 9 a.m. at Four Seasons Game Bird Farm, 115 List Hill Road, Valencia, according to Officer Randy Ruediger of the Middlesex Township Police Department.

The victim, Roy Yockey, 56, of Cowansville, Pa., was at the facility with a friend.

According to Ruediger, the friend attempted to shoot a bird, and Yockey was standing in the path of the shot. He was struck by BBs from the shot in the face and chest.

Yockey was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment, and Ruediger said it did not appear the injuries would be life-threatening.

The incident remains under investigation, though officials believe there was no malicious intent.
