| Today, less than a year after the Greater Yellowstone grizzly population lost their Endangered Species act protections, a fall trophy hunt has been approved in the state of Wyoming. Despite strong public, Indigenous, and legal opposition, including ongoing litigation against the delisting, WY wildlife officials have just voted to approve a trophy hunt. The season would allow for sport hunting of up to 23 grizzly bears, including female bears essential for continued recovery, just as bears are fattening up for hibernation this year.
