Wallowa County man had suffered injury to leg

An injured Wallowa County hunter was found in good condition by a Union County Search and Rescue team early Saturday morning about 20 miles northeast of Catherine Creek State Park in the Burger Butte area.

The man, who police said is from Enterprise, had a non-life threatening leg injury and was transported out on a mule by an outfitter to the Buck Creek trailhead, eight miles east of Catherine Creek State Park, where he was met by family members, according to a press release from the Union County Sheriff’s Office. The man, who did not need emergency medical treatment, said he would seek medical care on his own, according to UCSO Deputy Nick Vora.
