Although “From the Brink of Oblivion and Back Again” was the title I gave to one of two chapters I devoted to the plight of wolves in my book Exposing the Big Game: Living Targets of a Dying Sport, I still hadn’t fully realized just how apt that title would soon be. At that time, wolves were federally protected and their removal from the Endangered Species List was just someone’s bad idea that had yet to see its dark day. Exposing the Big Game 
When anyone, ever, says the states can manage wildlife, this is a terrible reminder what you will truly get. I do sincerely hope the proposal of a grizzly bear hunt epically fails.
Of course, they will continue to beat the s**t out of wolves if they can’t get their way to kill grizzlies, by escalating the wolf quotas every year – there are hunters, and then there are wolf haters, which is an entirely different breed, and on the loony side.
