SEATTLE — Seafair Weekend is here and that means the U.S. Navy Blue Angels ripping through the skies over Lake Washington. For many people in Seattle, it’s the sound of summer.

“Here they come,” said Patch Dahl, watching the jets at East Portal Point near Coleman Park.

For many families and thrill-seekers, the Blue Angels are the highlight of Seattle Seafair Weekend.

“They’re always remarkable to see,” Joleen Chambers said.

The Blue Angels practiced twice Thursday, zooming over Interstate 90 and Lake Washington –amazing a small audience near Coleman Park.
