BETHEL TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – There was a hunting accident in Branch County Sunday morning shortly after Michigan’s archery deer season opened.

911 Central Dispatch confirmed someone was hurt in a fall from a tree stand and suffered leg injuries in the mishap in Bethel Township. It was reported around 7:45 a.m. in a field south of US 12 and east of Cavanaugh Road.

The Bronson Fire Department and Life Care Ambulance responded to the scene. No further details are available.

Michigan’s bow deer hunting season is from October 1 to November 14, 2017, and also during the month of December. The regular firearm season in the state starts on November 15 and runs to November 30.
