JACKSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) – A hunter was found after getting lost in the Shawnee National Forest near Horseshoe Bluff according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

The call came in around 7:37 p.m. on Saturday, October 13.

The 46-year-old man from Springfield was found after contacting his cell phone. He was found unhurt around 10:29 p.m. and returned to his campsite.

The Murphysboro-Pomona-Somerset Fire Department helped in the search.
