A 71-year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries after he was accidentally shot in both legs in a hunting accident in Colchester County on Tuesday afternoon.

A woman called 911 at about 2:20 p.m. to report her brother was shot at a hunting camp on Highway 2.

The man was injured after another man at the camp picked up a rifle and it accidentally discharged, according to a RCMP news release.

The victim was taken to hospital by EHS. He has serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
