One man is dead after medical emergency while hunting in West Salem

WEST SALEM, Wis. (WKBT) – 57-year-old Bryan Antony told his hunting partner that he was in distress in a remote wooded area Saturday morning, according to a press release from the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office.

The press release says he was hunting near W3097 Buol Road in West Salem.

According to the Sheriff’s office, the The La Crosse County Emergency Dispatch Center was called shortly after 6:00 a.m. about Antony’s condition.

Another member of Antony’s hunting party located him and began C.P.R., according to the press release.

Area first responders arrived to the scene and tried life-saving efforts but were unsuccessful.

Tri-State Ambulance, La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office, West Salem First Responders and West Salem Fire Department all responded to the incident.
