Sheriff’s Office said that he went in to rescue his dog
DAKOTA CITY, Neb. (KCAU) – UPDATE: Authorities were able to rescue a hunter that fell through the ice on a lake near Dakota City.
Dakota County Sheriff’s Office said that they were called to the 1600 block of E Avenue in Dakota County Wednesday.
They said that Andrew Sedivy, 30, of Sioux City, was hunting on private property south of the lake when a goose went down.
Sedivy’s service dog, Jake, went out on the ice after the goose when it then fell through ice on the lake.
Sedivy went on the ice to rescue Jake when he fell through the ice as well. Sedivy was able to get Jake out.
Deputies and the property owner put a canoe in the lake and rescue Sedivy.
