Two people were injured Friday after a car accident not long after another member of their party was injured while hunting.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 5:41 p.m. to Plank Road in Penfield for a reported motor vehicle accident. After an investigation, it was discovered that 64-year-old man had fallen in the nearby woods when hunting and possibly broke his ankle.
Members of his family loaded him into the bed of a pickup truck and were on the way home when they were rear-ended by another vehicle. Two people as well as the injured man were ejected out of the pickup truck onto the road. The previously-injured man as well as a 59-year-old woman were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.
