Daviess County – One man is dead and another in a hospital.. after an accident while they were hunting this afternoon.
It happened just before three in Daviess County.
The sheriff’s office says that 40 year old Mervin Knepp of Montgomery, Indiana and 18 year Lavon Wagler of Plainville were coyote hunting.
That’s when their hunting dogs ran a coyote into an oil well pump housing.
The two men went to the machinery to retrieve the dogs when the pump started running.
Wagler was taken to the hospital for surgery on his leg.
Knepp was pronounced dead at the hospital.

I know it’s Christmastime, but really now…..
What happened to the poor terrified coyote?
One less monster terrorizing wildlife and maybe one that will have learned a lesson

Right, they don’t even tell us what happened to the coyote.
I really despise coyote hunters
What kind of rotten monster chases animals down like that
I’m sick to death of the agencies that allow this

Same here.
Karma is handing out gifts early is what I meant. The poor hunting dogs too, I don’t think they fare much better.
No matter what is said, how cruel and inhumane it is, or that it doesn’t control the population, means nothing, or the questionable killing of a sentient being for no reason – because I am convinced that there are some people who really do enjoy it, and it is a legal means to exercise their perverse behavior. It’s recreational killing, and for some it is who they are. So, karma was generous and gifted them with a death and a maiming this year.
The coyote and the dogs are not mentioned because for most they are not important enough.
Not to humans.
You all must think I am terrible; but I no longer have that much sympathy for humans who deliberately like to kill and put themselves in harm’s way to do it. I want to save my sympathy for humanity’s victims.
I feel the same way.
