Billboard makes the case against trapping on public land as legislators meet to debate bill
Drivers in Albuquerque and Las Cruces are confronting a brutal reality about wildlife management in New Mexico thanks to a series of billboards, bus shelter ads and bus banners recently unveiled by WildEarth Guardians.
The billboards feature a bobcat in a steel leg-hold trap with the message “Trapping is Torture: Protect Public Lands.” The billboards were deployed this month in an effort to mobilize popular support for a New Mexico legislative campaign to ban trapping on public lands.

This isn’t enough. When out of jail (on bail, maybe) he will get into the bad habit again.
It’s a morbid disease: see around. There is too much hatred toward humans, even worst toward these other sentient beings unable to difend themselves. Claudine
I don’t know, I think whatever he does now, he’ll be watched. I was also glad to read that he was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, by taking his 17 year son with him, teaching his son this, and subjecting his son to it.
The fine is hefty, and even a little jail time is better than none, and losing hunting privileges for ten years and his (ill-gotten?) property seized as well. I don’t think offenders get even that much usually. This crime was especially cruel and egregious.
You wonder what more they have on these guys, because I don’t think I have ever once read about a poacher who hasn’t pleaded guilty! This was a plea bargain arrangement too.
This is his sentence, bail was a dim memory from when he was first arrested. The kid got probation – but even a little jail time won’t be pleasant.
