Thu., Feb. 7, 2019, 4 p.m.

The Washington Wolf Advisory group will discuss what to do once wolves are delisted in the state during a meeting on Olympia, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The WAG, which is made up representatives from various interest groups across the state, will also discuss communication between the department and stakeholders: including data sharing, how and when the department makes decisions and staff response time to incidents.
The meeting will be held at the Meetinghouse at Priest Point, 3201 Boston Harbor Road NE, Olympia. There will also be an open-house style public comment period on Feb. 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the WAG work session.

The subject that outranks all others. 😦 I don’t think wolves are going to be listed next week?
De-listed, you mean?
^^or delisted, sorry. The whole country can be going to hell in a handcart, and all anyone cares about is killing wolves. Not much has changed in a few hundred years.
Everyone should have seen this coming when the talk about reintroducing wolves started. The hatred of wolves runs too deep. Yes, they are part of a well-functioning ecosystem and driver of the trophic cascade.
But it did not seem fair to bring them back for more persecution and slaughter just for being wolves.
The whole process is not fair (not that “fair” is ever considered when it comes to animals) to the cows that ranchers graze near wilderness areas and don’t protect.
So we can see what WAG comes up with, but we can safely guess that human interests will be at the top of the list, as usual.
