Investigators say the most recent crimes happened just one week after the now-former sheriff had pleaded guilty to two more serious crimes. (MGN Online)
KNOX COUNTY, Mo. — A former northeast Missouri sheriff is in trouble with the law again.
Former Knox County Sheriff Robert Becker, 51, of Rutledge, Missouri, is now charged with Taking Wildlife Illegally and Unlawful Use of a Weapon by discharging it along a roadway.
Both charges are misdemeanors.
Becker was forced to resign as sheriff in December 2018 after pleading guilty to charges of Sexual Abuse and Domestic Assault.
Investigators said the latest crimes he is charged with happened on December 26, 2018, exactly one week after his guilty pleas in the other case.
