Almost 60,000 people have signed an online petition to end hunting contests in B.C.

Petition creator Lavinia Rojas said she’s shooting for a meeting with Forests Minister Doug Donaldson to deliver her petition, which she started about four weeks ago after learning about the contests.

“I find it inconceivable that animals are killed, but especially for fun,” she said Saturday. “It’s outrageous.”
