On April 18, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Columbia Valley RCMP was advised of a hunting accident on Hawke Road, off Westside Road between Invermere and Fairmont Hot Springs.
Columbia Valley RCMP Detachment commander Sgt. Darren Kakuno reported two men were hunting together when an accidental discharge of a rifle occurred striking one of the men in the shoulder.
The injured man was transported to Invermere & District Hospital for his injury.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
