Kissing hunters who posed above the body of a deceased lion in a Facebook photo have exited social media over large-scale backlash.
“Hard work in the hot Kalahari sun… well done. A monster lion,” is how Darren and Carolyn Carter of Edmonton, Alberta, reportedly captioned their photo during a hunting trip to Africa.
In response, the Carters were immediately branded “murderers” and had their lives threatened over the alleged trophy kill. Their image was reportedly shared to the Facebook page of Legelela Safaris, a hunting company in Frankfort, South Africa, where it was then deleted, along with the company’s page.
The married couple currently has a non-working phone number and did not reply to an interview request via email from Yahoo Lifestyle.

I hadn’t realized that this couple shot 3 lions in one day! And to see them grinning, it just looks like something is lacking with them.
What did they think the response would be?
What was that about hunters respecting animals?
bs.
From what I’ve seen, they show just a sliver of surface level admiration for the animals if only for the sake of boosting their own egos for having killed them.
I’m still trying to wrap my head around someone treating factory farmed lions like targets in a carnival shooting gallery. Three in one day! Hard work in the hot sun, only in their Hemmingway fantasies. What a sick and vile creature humanity is; degrading everything they touch.
The only problem I see with the social media death threats is that they have remained, so far, only that: threats.
I didn’t see anything that was outrageous, just a few karma reminders, and a general disgust.
I suppose that to question the human demi-gods’ behavior in any way is verboten.

A hunting group is disavowing any association with them too, I read. Who knows – maybe there is something to suspicions of wildlife trafficking and Interpol investigations! 😉
