  1. I heard this on the television news last night; and the news reader had a tone that was borderline overwrought. At first I thought it might have been a clueless (I’ll be polite) visitor. This worker hasn’t been there very long, only a month. When you work with wild animals, animals kept in cages who may be stressed and mentally unstimulated, accidents may happen, and it is a risk that an employee accepts, or should accept – as well as taking necessary precautions.

    It’s like the news media is still stuck in journalism’s early years when it comes to some issues, especially animals. Unless it’s a cutesy human interest story.

    Counseling? I hope that counseling is suggested for animal abusers too – the dog burners, beaters, etc.
