A person died Saturday in a reported hunting accident, Columbia County deputies say.

The county sheriff’s office said authorities arrived at the scene to find other members of a hunting party performing CPR on the victim, who later died at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation. No information about the circumstances of the shooting has been released, and the victim has not been publicly identified.
