According to a post by the Lake City Silver World Newspaper, two individuals have been charged in connection with the killing of a well-known and beloved Lake City moose. The incident occurred on October 4, when the mother moose with twins was killed on private land.
It was reportedly determined that while the woman who shot the moose had a valid hunting license, the kill was illegal as it occurred on private property. She was charged with hunting on private property without permission and the illegal take of wildlife. She faces a fine of $1,646.50. Her male hunting partner was charged with trespassing to hunt without permission, facing a fine of $276.50
