A GoFundMe fund-raising effort was set up to help pay for funeral expenses for Joshua Morgan, who died in a hunting accident on Nov. 17. The funeral was held this morning.
State Police are still investigating the death of a 20-year-old Herkimer County deer hunter who was accidentally shot by a fellow hunter on Nov. 17, but several facts were released today by Herkimer District Attorney Jeffrey S. Carpenter.
Joshua R. Morgan, of Newport, was hunting with a group of people in a wooded area north of state Route 5 South in the town of Frankfort at 8:43 a.m. when someone in his group accidentally shot him, state police spokesman Trooper Jack Keller said earlier this week.
