In a joint operation with Uttar Pradesh forest division, five sloth bear were seized from wildlife traffickers and later transferred to the Agra Bear Rescue facility for required medical treatment by Wildlife SoS on Tuesday.
According to Wildlife officials, these bear were intended for sale to other middleman by traffickers.
Surprisingly, organ of bears are used in making of Chinese traditional medicine. “Bear bile, gall bladders and other body parts are used in Chinese traditional medicine and make the bear a vulnerable target for this reason,” said a member of rescue team.
