Greta Thunberg cited the “scientific facts” in response to Meat Loaf’s comments that she’s been “brainwashed” about climate change.
On Jan. 1, the singer told the U.K.’s Daily Mail that he doesn’t believe in the environmental dangers decried by the 17-year-old Swedish activist.
“She has been brainwashed into thinking that there is climate change, and there isn’t,” he told the outlet. “She hasn’t done anything wrong, but she’s been forced into thinking that what she is saying is true.”
Thunberg took to Twitter Monday to respond.
“It’s not about Meatloaf. It’s not about me. It’s not about what some people call me. It’s not about left or right,” she tweeted. “It’s all about scientific facts. And that we’re not aware of the situation. Unless we start to focus everything on this, our targets will soon be out of reach.”
This isn’t the first time Thunberg faced criticism…
I think many of us should feel insulted by this gentleman with such a lovely name, and by a multitude of others who have put on thick, well-polarized sunglasses so as not to see the reality around us.
Nobody brainwashed me… nobody whispered me in my sleep “it’s the beginning of the end” – “armageddon is around the corner” – “the planet is burning”…
Just use the intellect, without having to do university studies (my case) to realize the seriousness of the situation.
Greta has started a global revolt, which is evident and annoys many. A little girl who did what we didn’t do, and did it with courage and resilience.
Perhaps, people who continue to deny climate change should once and for all realize that we are not immortal, sooner or later we must die, and that it is abominable not to think of the living creatures that will follow each other and live on the planet that we have borrowed from future generations.
I don’t know, I have to disagree – many, many people have and are talking about climate change, but Greta seems to be the most mediagenic. I wish she wouldn’t get into these petty exchanges and concentrate on climate change only. I hope that people are following her for the right reasons, but I doubt it.
