Thanks, New Mexican, for your 2 excellent articles on environmental/wildlife matters– which are related: Both of these issues involve industries which are mired in 1800’s mentality, which views native wild animals as “quotas, pelts, harvests, trophies, and a “danger to the livestock industry.”

Game Commissions were set up in the early 1900’s to protect the special interests of trophy hunters, trappers and their buddies in the destructive livestock industry, which are often one and the same. Hunters can also get a trapping license to slaughter wildlife, while hunting. Government trappers are everywhere on public lands, trapping wildlife at taxpayer expense.

The livestock industry is a major contributor to Climate Change, responsible for degradation of riparian zones, native grasses, responsible for slaughtering millions of native wild life, especially wolves and coyotes. Coyotes have absolutely no protection, are treated as “vermin”…
