OLYMPIA, Wash. – Gov. Jay Inslee held a press conference Friday to scold Washingtonians who are not doing their utmost to stop the spread of the deadly coronavirus across the state.
And if people don’t do it voluntarily, Inslee said he may have to issue more draconian legal orders to make it mandatory.
“If we’re not cutting the mustard, there could be further orders,” he said.
Although the vast majority of people are heeding earlier emergency orders to stay home, maximize social distancing avoid contact with vulnerable people, Inslee said there still are many others who are not.
Teens are hanging out with their friends, other people are crowding the beach at Alki – and any one of them could bring the virus back home to potentially infect their loved ones.
