A Jefferson County woman is asking for help in finding the person who shot her horse with an arrow while riding in the Kettle Moraine Forest Wednesday afternoon, resulting in the death of the horse.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is now searching for the hunter associated with the arrow, after the horse had to be put down due to the extent of its injuries.

The incident occurred shortly before 3:15 p.m., according to a release from the DNR, near Viele Lane near Palmyra.

Lisa Schreier, who owned the horse, said she and two friends were out riding on the horse trails in the forest, talking and laughing.
