All 16 feet were missing their talons, which investigators suspect may have been taken to make jewelry.

Raptors are protected by federal law and four of the eight pairs have been identified as the feet of bald eagles, the national bird of the U.S.

  2. I don’t know anything about jewelry with raptor talons sold in US. I wonder if this is ever policed in the US, or if the jewelry gets sold in other countries to avoid the laws. Also I would think some Native tribes still use raptor parts for ceremonies and such.
