MARQUETTE — A lost hunter was found Sunday off Marquette County Road KK, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office announced.

The sheriff’s office reported that at 6 p.m. Sunday, it was dispatched to Powell Township for a lost hunter, along with Marquette County Search and Rescue.

Erik Bjornson, 48, of Negaunee, was hunting grouse when he became lost and wet. Bjornson contacted Central Dispatch for assistance. Central Dispatch then obtained a GPS coordinate from the 911 call.

Rescue personnel quickly located Bjornson, and EMS evaluated him at the scene. No medical treatment was required and he went home on his own.

Assisting at the scene were Powell Township EMS and Michigan State Police.
