In a bizarre circumstance borne of state statute and a court order,hunters and trappers would have just seven days to fill a wolf tag.

The special board meeting was called after a Jefferson County judge on Thursdayordered the DNRand NRB to implement a wolf hunting and trapping season in February.

The rulingcame in alawsuitbrought against the DNRand NRB by the Wisconsin Institute for Law &Liberty on behalf of Hunter Nation Inc., a Kansas-based hunting advocacy group. Luke Hilgemann, president of Hunter Nation, is a Wisconsin resident.
