NICHOLAS COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) —A man in Nicholas County was cited this week for allegedly trapping raccoons who were eating corn put out to kill turkeys out of season.

The man was charged for killing at least two turkeys and one deer out of season, according to West Virginia Natural Resources Police. Officers said the man was using some of the illegally harvested deer meat to bait traps used to catch raccoons who were eating the corn that was put out for bait in order to kill turkeys.
