The clock is ticking for counties in Upstate New York to “opt-in” for a two-year pilot program allowing junior hunters ages 12 -13 to hunt deer with a firearm or crossbow beginning this fall.

The new regulation, which was approved in the recent state budget, requires each county to pass a resolution approving the change for it to be allowed within its boundaries, said Chuck Parker, president of the New York State Conservation Council.https://af045be7f4abecbdb79f426b84817af6.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-38/html/container.html
