Because we know how much you care, we wanted to give youafollow-up from the Montana Fish & Wildlife Commission August 20, 2021 hearing on the final for wolves, river otters, and trap setbacks.The latter, as an after thought, showedup for public comment 2 weeks after the wolf and furbearer trapping proposals June 24th public hearing.

In a nutshell, wolves lost.During the hearing, Commissioner Tabor made a motion to the wolf proposals for the 2021 wolf season which:
Allows the killing of 450 wolves. Wolves killed exceeding the 450 ”initiates a commission review with potential for rapid-in-season adjustments”, and will be re-engaged at intervals of 50 wolves killed. Quotas per region were set as:
Region 1 195 wolves
Region 2 116
Region 3 82
Region 4 39
Region 5 11
Region 6 3
Region 7 4
which similarly will initiate a commission…
