The good news is most traps will not harm your dog. Most land traps are simply meant to hold an animal, not injure or kill it. Exposing the Big Game 
Trapping is barbaric and torturous to all animals. It needs to be totally banned in every state, including ME. I lived there a few year, and bears are still trapped, but even in states which may have “partial bans” trapping is still rampant in every state.
Perhaps, when more barbaric trappers lose a hand or finger with their cruel devices, trapping will be banned?
