CANMORE– Well-known Canmore resident and dedicated conservationist Karsten Heuer is lucky to be alive after falling about 25 feet from a tree while bow hunting in the Bow Valley last week.

Alberta EMS was called to a staging area near Grotto Canyon Trail shortly after 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 24) to rendezvous with Kananaskis Country Public Safety specialists who had found Heuerin the woods badly injured on the ground below atree stand.
