A convicted felon, Carl Lewis Cramer III, 37 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he was found hunting without a license.

Reports said that Cramer was found hunting on private property on Jones Bend Road with a Mossberg .308 rifle.

A second man was also found on the property, also hunting without a license. Both men stated the gun, which was located within 30 yards of them, did not belong to them and that they were not hunting.

Cramer is charged with hunting without a license, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and obstruction.
