HAMILTON, Mont. —A western Montana man has died of a gunshot wound in an apparent hunting accident.
Ravalli County officials say the 21-year-old man from Conner was found dead near a trailhead southwest of Conner on Sunday, the final day of the state’s general hunting season.
Sheriff and Coroner, Steve Holton says the case is still being investigated, but there is nothing to indicate the man’s death was due to anything other than a tragic accident.
The man was hunting alone. His name is not being released until family members are notified.
