BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) —A hunter in Boone County has been charged after officials said he shot a man after mistaking him for a bear.

Jimmy Castle, 70, has been charged with misdemeanor negligent shooting and felony failure to render aid aftera man’s body was found in the Preston Branch area of Twilighton Thursday, according to West Virginia Division of Natural Resources Sgt. Larry Harvey.
