It was a costly safari for an Amherstburg man who was fined $6,500 by the Ontario Court of Justice after he was caught illegally hunting in Elgin County.

At a case heard remotely by Justice of the Peace Terry Steenson earlier this month in St. Thomas, William Gatto pleaded guilty to hunting without a licence and failing to produce his possession and acquisition firearms licence while hunting with a gun.
